Overqualified girls

In India, the male to female ratio is approx. 10: 8 in educated states like Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu n much more skewed in the northern n eastern states, in some places as low as 10:6....so by that definition there r 0.4 to 0.2 more guys available for each girl in the marriage mart....but strangely enuf as the girl becomes more qualified this number drops precipitously.
The only way i can explain this phenomenon is to hypothesize
a) that guys with better qualifications simply prefer less qualified girls
b) there r no guys with better qualifications
c) there r too many overqualified girls
d) any or all of these insights hold true
